Full Site Investigations

A full site investigation may need to be undertaken to achieve detailed results across the site. This type of testing is usually required for structural engineers in order to give them accurate information about the bearing pressures of the soils and determine the design integrity of existing footings. This information is critical when designing and ascertaining whether or not an existing footing system may be adequate for reloading of any kind.

Testing methods may vary depending upon site conditions and the type of information required based on the proposed development.

These may include:

  • Pocket penetrometer testing for Bearing Pressures
  • Footing probes and pits
  • Dynamic cone penetrometer testing
  • Vane Shear testing
  • Shrink and swell testing
  • Moisture Contents
